A breath of fresh air - the DIY entrepreneurs looking for the best website builders for their small business! There’s a ton of builders out there, but which one is the easiest and most efficient platform to build a website on?
First and foremost, I have used pretty much every site builder software out there. There are two reasons why I’ve used them all:
A: Almost all of my clients have a different builder.
B: I do a lot of link building on different builders, which helps not only my rankings, but my clients’ rankings as well.
Secondly, I have been building, designing and doing SEO on WordPress for the last five years. As you probably have already heard from other bloggers, “Wordpress is the best website CMS builder for SEO purposes, so use WP!”
I Love WordPress, But...
Although I LOVE WordPress, it takes a BIG learning curve to figure out which themes match certain plugins, UNLESS you have Thrive Themes then integrations are seamless.
It also takes a long time to learn how to integrate 3rd party services, such as payment gateways to take orders, email marketing or online course membership software. Really the list goes on for 3rd party integrations, which is why I even started searching for the best website builder for ANY business, let alone small businesses.
One of the reasons why I love WP so much is because of Thrive Themes. Thrive Themes is a simple front end drag and drop page builder that is easy as heck to figure out. It reminds me of how Wix, Squarespace, Weebly and those types of platforms are - very user friendly.
A Simple Drag & Drop Page Builder
Build With Thrive!
With Thrive Themes, I can easily integrate SOME 3rd party services that I have. For example, my email marketing software mailchimp and Aweber. I can also build beautiful looking funnels in a click of a button because of the pre-made templates.
Lastly, WP has a great reputation for ranking websites on search engines (mainly Google). The reason behind this is because you can integrate a 3rd party plugin called Yoast SEO Plugin.
If you read my On-Page SEO House Rules eBook, then you know that the only thing you need to be able to rank your website, is control of the On-Page Meta Data. I also briefly explain it in my Five Easy to Follow SEO Tips for Beginners to help anyone who wants more traffic.
But, why am I not praising WordPress? What has pushed me to the edge to find something better? There are some things that I’m really starting to get fed up with when it comes to WP.
The One Thing I Hate About WordPress (And Every Other Website Builder)
You might be thinking, “wordpress is a CMS, not a website builder.” Well, the way I use it, it’s a website builder because I use Thrive Themes.
With that being said, Thrive is what I recommend IF you decide to go with WP.
Still though, the one thing I can’t stand about it is that I need to integrate ALL of my entrepreneur essential 3rd party software tools.
Well, integration is pretty easy you said, Al.
That’s correct, I did say that. BUT…
What I hate most about WordPress is how many monthly fees I have because of these 3rd party services that I need to run my businesses.
- Membership platform ($99/month)
- Help Desk software ($29/month)
- Webinar Software ($49/month)
- Email marketing service ($20/month)
- Payment gateways (FEES)
- eCommerce (roughly $49.month)
- Clickfunnels ($297/month)
Yea… that adds up. Obviously as long as we are making more than we are spending, then it’s all good, which it is. But, I’m past that point in my entrepreneurial journey. Why can’t there be an all-in-one platform? I would soon find this answer out.
The Cold Hard Truth About Wix, Weebly, Squarespace and All The Others
I’m sorry, but I have to group these website builders into the same category. I think they are somewhat user friendly only because of the front end drag and drop page builders that they carry. Let’s face it, nobody wants to go into the backend of a website to edit anymore these days.
The big downside to any of these platforms is their ability to build out a proper sales funnel, which EVERY business needs in my opinion.
What does this mean?
It simply means that you need to then purchase a funnel building software, such as Clickfunnels or Leadpages. Be prepared to spend another $99 per month, or even more on top of your monthly fees from your website builder.
Clickfunnels is one of the best funnel builders out there. The problem is that you can only do funnels and landing pages, along with taking payments and hooking up other 3rd party software that you need.
But… guess what I found?
What’s The Best Website Builder to Use for Small Businesses?
If you’re really looking for the best, then you should be looking for an All-In-One platform. Up until about a year ago, it was WordPress all the way. But then, I found something better.
Could it be? Really? An all-in-one SEO and user friendly website builder that you can also…
- Build funnels
- Sell digital products and services
- Have a membership platform
- Have a help desk
- Webinar software
- Email marketing
All under one roof. Now, the product is still in Beta (as I write this 6-11-2020). It’s called GrooveFunnels, and I did a complete review on GrooveFunnels suite of tools because I purchased a lifetime access membership, and I absolutely love it.
Knowing the people behind this company and who they are teaming up with, this whole suite of tools won’t even be close to any other website builder out there.
You will even be able to find a website that you absolutely love, punch that URL into GrooveFunnel’s Cloning software and you will have the template created with a click of a button.
It’s just as easy, if not easier learning how to build websites on GroovFunnel’s GroovePages than every other site builder I mentioned in this article. They also have GrooveKart, which is a competitor of Shopify.
Right now, they are offering a free lifetime membership for those looking to test drive it out. I’m sure that offer will go away very soon and it will be like every other platform out there (free for 14 days, $99/mo after the free trial). So, you really have nothing to lose to get the free version.
You can easily control all On-Page SEO, build websites from their pre-made templates, watch tutorials and so much more. Will it be better than WordPress? Only time will tell, but as far as I’m concerned - it will be.
Is it better than the “other” builders? It absolutely is, hands down not even close. Why? Because it’s super easy to start building and creating conversion focused landing pages, which is what this company majors in. This saves you time as an entrepreneur, and that’s huge because none of us want to learn a whole different piece of software.
Final Verdict, What Should You Choose?
This is my experience with website builders over the past 5 years. Hopefully I helped shed some light on which ones are best for you and your business.
I think, at the end of the day, every business needs a conversion focused landing page, be able to collect email addresses, be able to sell their products or services online, build funnels, and have the ability to do proper On-Page SEO so you can rank in search engines to get traffic to your offer page.
This is exactly what I get with my WP plus Thrive Themes set up, so I highly recommend you start there.
Now, GrooveFunnels is the only other platform that is close to Thrive plus WP. I will be able to have it all set up under one roof. As an entrepreneur, you really can’t get any better than that.
With that being said, I will continue to use WordPress ONLY with Thrive Themes because I am so familiar with it, it's super easy to use and it has made me a lot of affiliate money.
Go With WordPress + Thrive Themes!
An amazing and easy platform for any small business to get started with.
I would love to hear what website builder you love and why to help others who read this post.
